OUR MOTHER THE MOUNTAIN (2012)

The three projects Yesterday, when I was young, Our Mother the Mountain, and Even in the Quietest Moments are forming a triptych presenting a self-portrait that has been set up in three sections: melancholy, passion and contemplation.

Our mother the mountain represents the second section: passion. Dazed by the unstoppable technologic progress I needed to take some distance from the modern frenzy that was leading our society. At that time I was rediscovering a passion for mountains, which grew stronger day by day and helped me build this second panel. The representation of nature became inevitable in the interpretation of my self-portrait.

The title Our mother the mountain is borrowed from a Townes Van Zandt's song
